A Worshipping Community
Christ Church is a Church of England School, and it is hoped that parents will do all they can to encourage their children to participate in religious activities including religious education and worship. Whilst parents retain the right to withdraw their children from participating in religious activities we would urge any parent considering this option to speak with the head teacher prior to the admission of their child into the school. As a Christian community the school values collective worship.
Pupils pray together as part of their daily activities. A morning, lunch and afternoon prayer are part of the school routines. A parent prayer group worships together on a Monday morning at 9.00. There is also a prayer request box for the whole community to use.
Eucharist & Other Services
At key points in the school and church year individual classes take responsibility for preparing and leading school Eucharist, which are held in the school or in the Parish church.
Easter services are led by pupils to explore the events from the Bible leading up to and including Easter Sunday.
Lent & Advent
During Lent and Advent children and teachers are encouraged to think and pray about the needs of others in our world. Money is raised to help people in various places at home and abroad.
