A Note from the Headteacher
Welcome back to a new school year. Pupils have settled back into learning very quickly and are learning their new class routines. On Friday 14th September you can collect your class information
pack from the hall and visit your child’s class to meet their teacher 8:40am – 9:30am. If you are unable to come on Friday the packs will be available from the School Office.
In the pack you collect you will find:
- The Class timetable.
- Reading with your child – Guidance on what your child should be doing at home to improve their reading.
- Topic Grids – Showing what topics will be taught over the year, also available online
- Six week teaching grid – Week by week what your child is learning
- Outdoor Learning information – Why being outdoors
- Maths with your child – Pupils will be assessed on these skills to identify what they need to know
- SEND – Special needs at Christ Church
The focus for this term’s homework is reading, times tables, number bonds and research for topic work. The class pack outlines this in more detail.
Please read and return the behaviour contract that was sent home on Friday. Pupils who return them receive a raffle ticket for the prize draw.
Fundraising for our new outdoor space
Please log into our pitch on space hive and like our project:
The mayor of London is looking for local interest in the project in order to grant funds. Please ask as
many people as you can in Battersea to ‘like it’.
If you can spare some time Friday morning the PTFA are providing refreshments for parents who attend the parent information session any help is gratefully received.

This year we are asking pupils and parents to come up with some new team names. The focus is on people who inspire us to believe and achieve. They can be from any profession but need to link with our school ethos. If you have any suggestions please write them down and give them to the School Office. Pupils will be doing some work on this next week and giving in their suggestions.
Attendance & Punctuality
Attendance is checked every term. If you are aiming for 100% keep it up. Any pupils with attendance below 90% will be sent a letter and monitored. If attendance does not improve you will be called to an attendance panel.
All latecomers MUST sign in at the School Office using the touch screen on the wall.
Regular lateness is disruptive to your child’s education. Please ensure they are in school and on time.
